The Gift by Carl Erik Rinsch
The Founding by Barney Cokeliss
After the great sucess of the film Caroussel in 2009, Philips decided to sponsor more films in order to present the Philips Cinema LCD TV). To do so, Philips worked with Ridley Scott Associates to create five different branded shorts, all with the exact same dialogue but of different genres. The result is fascinating. All movies have the Hollywood glossy perfectionism but tell completely different stories about a unicorn.
Philips displayed these films on a seperate website in order to show the qualities of the TV to a large audience . Now, that the site is not available anymore, two of the five films are “only” used in their TV buyer’s guide. A pity, since all of them are very entertaining.
Further films are unfortunately not available anymore but also formed part of the Philips Cinema Parallel Lines:
The Darkroom by Johnny Hardstaff
The Hunt by Jake Scott
Jun and the Hidden Skies by Hi-Sim
El Secreto de Mateo by Greg Fay
